The Malhar Group’s annual spring event this year was held on 9 May 2009 in Downtown Arts Centre in Hamilton, Ontario. It was a great success; the listeners as well as the performers enjoyed it thoroughly. The program this year consisted of a Hindustani vocal recital performed by Pt. Baldev Raj Verma followed by Sitar performance by Ustad Shahid Parvez accompanied by Sri Subhankar Banerjee. This performance was Ustad Parvez's first performance in Hamilton, Ontario.
